This is a wine with easy early appeal and fine balance, with blossomy, almondy notes on the nose and a mineral hint of struck flint. It has complexity and an opulent texture, a long finish and a superbly well-proportioned sense of elegance. Les Narvaux is a highly-rated vineyard site located to the south of Meursault village, on the slope above the Porusot and Genevrires Premier Crus. Its well-drained, south-easterly slope helps produce concentrated wine, and its higher altitude (290-330m) confers freshness. Fermentation takes place in small (228 litre) oak barrels, of which 15% are first-fill, and the wine is aged on fine lees without btonnage for 18 months before assembly in 'cuve' one month prior to bottling.
