Said to be one of the first single malts produced in Hungarian virgin oak (Quercus Petraea) this exciting newexpression from Billy Walker has been released as part of the third batch in the Virgin Oak series from GlenAllachie distillery. Initially matured in American oak, ex-bourbon barrels it was then given additional maturation for around 18 months in Hungarian virgin oak casks! The casks were sourced from the Zempln forest, located in the northeast of Hungary where the trees in this area growing very slowly giving the oak a tight grain, which is great for ageing spirit.
