Carramimbre Verdejo

Carramimbre
Carramimbre, or wicker path in ancient Spanish, is the name of one of the vineyards owned by Bodegas Pignon in the Ribera del Duero; situated at the bottom of a short hill, where an ancient castle still stands. Some of the vines here are as old as 50 years old. The vineyards sit on the Golden Mile of the Ribera del Duero (which is, in fact, 15km long) stretching along the Duero valley from the town of Peafiel, down to Tudela de Duero. Here, the Bodegas rubs shoulders with many prestigious and iconic neighbours (Alion, Vega Sicilia etc) Grape Varieties: 100% Verdejo Tasting Notes: A fresh and fruity wine, with an attractive pale yellow hue and an inviting sparkle. The aroma is dominated by tropical and stoned fruit (particularly peach) with floral undertones, while the taste is markedly fresh due to balanced acidity and a pleasant fruitiness.
