Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes 2010

Amathus
Chateau Suduiraut is classified as 1er Cru Class, and was founded in the 15th Century. The well-located vineyards border those of Yquem, and consists of 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon, which typically makes up the blend, which is aged in 33% new French oak barriques for 2 years following fermentation. The 2010 is one of the best wines of an outstanding vintage. The 2010 Suduiraut has an attractive bouquet with notes of Mirabelle, jasmine and saffron infusing the upfront honeyed fruit. This is no shy retiring wallflower. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, lightly spiced with a pleasant bitter note that lends tension on the finish. Good length, this is a very fine 2010 Sauternes. 95/100 Neal Martin
