Dom Ruinart Ros 2007 is a rare champagne, owing its unique character to its selection of Grand Crus: 80% Chardonnay from the Cte des Blancs (Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Chouilly) and the Montagne de Reims (Sillery, Verzenay) blended with 20% Pinot Noir, vinified as red wine, entirely from the Grand Cru vineyard in A. The original nature of this blend, largely dominated by Chardonnay provides this wine with remarkable freshness. Dom Ruinart Ros 2007 is a refined, dynamic wine with a strong character. On the nose, roasted notes mingle with aromas of ripe citrus fruit. On the palate, the Chardonnay provides freshness and a crisp character full of integrity. The finish is beautifully structured with contained power, allowing the Pinot Noir to express itself with a fine bitterness highlighted by the low dosage.
