Clem Port, founded in 1859 by Antonio Alves Clem, has a rich history of four generations. Since releasing its first Vintage Port in 1870, Clem has gained a reputation for being one of the Douros most celebrated Port producers. The imposing winery is situated in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the south bank of the Douro River, and attracts around 150,000 visitors each year. The Clem Colheita 1961 is an exceptional tawny Port in every way. It had been awarded the IWSC Port Wine Trophy 2016 to complement its 94 Point score from The Wine Advocate and Gold Medal at the Sommelier Wine Awards. Its marked intensity and complexity of flavour is matched by notable freshness. A Port for the ages. Judge's Tasting Notes at the IWSC 2017: Amber shading to green. Dried figs, caramel and raisins with marmalade notes and candied lemons. The wine exhibits amazing youthfulness and purity and literally dances on the tongue.
