Established in 1782, A.van Wees distillery de Ooievaar claims to be the last authentic distillery left in Amsterdam, producing a range of Old Dutch genevers, bitters and liqueurs. Their products are creative compositions made from pure natural raw materials. A combination of various malt wines, redistilled maltwine and carefully selected botanicals, twice distilled then aged in oak casks for at least a year. With citrus fruit and intense herbal flavours the obvious maltiness brings to mind a whisky rather than a gin.
