Berthier Sancerre Rouge

Berthier
Jean-Marie Berthier, a highly skilled wine producer from Loire valley, created this estate in the early 1980s. Today, his two sons Clment and Florian have taken over the domaine to produce a distinctive range of wines, covering a variety of styles and Loire appellations as the estate has expanded. Having previously worked in Burgundy, New Zealand and the USA, Clment and Florian brought a modern approach; looking to produce clean, precise wines which display a distinct sense of their origins, including some of the finest red wines of the Centre-Loire. Sancerre is known for its white wine production but as the climate changes it has displayed its capacity for outstanding Pinot Noir. The vines for this wine are planted in Sainte Gemme village on Burgundian clay-limestone soil. A warm fermantation between 26 and 32C. during which the must is pumped over twice a day to maximize the extraction of colour and tannins. The wine is then racked and aged for 10 months before bottling. Grape: 100% Pinot Noir. Tasting Note: An enticingly aromatic and textured Pinot Noir displaying supple, medium-bodied raspberry and cherry notes, a hint of dark pepper and soft, elegant tannins Food Match: Ideal with grilled rabbit or teriyaki chicken. Closure: Natural Cork Farming Practices: Contains Sulfites Vintage: 2017 Download Product Info: (https://www.dropbox.com/s/zdrw2b6gjbsbdx0/Vignobles%20Berthier%20Sancerre%20Rouge.pdf?dl=0)
