Maverick
Maverick may have been founded recently, in 2004, but its vineyards have seen many a vintage and in some cases pre-date the winery by over a century! Its winery in the Barossa Valley is home to historic, low yielding grape vines. Yet, whilst Mavericks grape vines may have a lot of history, its approach to its winemaking is very progressive. Grape Varieties: 100% Shiraz. Farming Practices: Maverick wines are made from biodynamically-farmed estate fruits. Their vineyards are certified by NASAA (National Association of Sustainsble Agriculture of Australia) as biodynamic or biodynamic in conversion. Tasting Notes: Complex and brooding nose showing black stonefruit of black doris plum, grillotte cherry, with touches of black olive, herbs, licorice and chocolate. Richly layered, richly textured dense fruit palate. Intense and concentrated wine, seamless transferring on to a very long and evolving finish with the fruit complexities persisting. There is a long wait until this one peaks. Sugar Level: 0.72g/l Closure: Natural Cork Download Product Info (https://www.dropbox.com/s/2blgcjrq59ih748/Maverick%20Greenock%20Rise%20Old%20Vine%20Shiraz%202016.pdf?dl=0)
